Dating slips when two cold devices share one drawer
A simple stamp habit that stops device A and device B notes from blending before import time.
Households that keep two air-gapped devices often store paper notes in the same drawer. Months later, a bookkeeper cannot tell which device a transfer belonged to, and a transaction import workbook stalls on those lines.
What works in practice
Use a small physical stamp or pre-printed label for each device — a letter, a colour, or a short nickname that is not the seed-related name. Stamp every slip the same day the movement happens. If you reprint a signed confirmation later, stamp that copy too.
What to avoid
Do not rely on memory of “which USB held which export.” Do not store recovery material in the same envelope as movement slips. Mixing those categories is the most common reason we pause an intake.
When a workbook helps
